Dear lord, a couple months only of summer weather would be amazing. It's 75 here right now. argh. And 6 months of the year are above 90 degrees with over 70% humidity. 3 months in the high 90's and hundreds with hihg humidity. I can imagine Annapolis. But if other texans are screaming about it, then I'm scared lol. Glad I applied to AFA for the weather. Although I dunno how I could handle 0 F with only 50 in winter here.

I had and EVIL sister in the house growing up. :d

here in the low country of SC, humidity year around is btween 80-100%, plus we might get a couple of weeks where a sweatshirt is required other than that its usually 60-70 in the winter and 105 in the summer, Summer Seminar was great weather compared to here,. however there is nothing like SC, can't beat it!

My part of Texas complains when the humidity gets above 40%. People also complain when it's dry, like now. We haven't had rain since the beginning of October. It can get pretty hot here, and cold. This past November we had a week with like 3F lows and 8F highs. We have also had 45 straight days where it got over 100 before.

Annapolis gets you with heat and humidity but C-Springs gets you with cold when you least expect it. Like Picture Day during Summer Seminar when it was about 40F with 50MPH winds.

Haha, were you in Session one? That was awesome. I thought the wind was great. I love the feeling... although it was chilly. Did you go up Pike's Peak? Now that was cold. I hadn't seen snow in such a long time. I really appreciated it.

For my session of NASS, the weather was so bad that we weren't even allowed to do the stuff outside, including the boat stuff, during mock Sea Trials. I think only one company got to, and we were so jealous!

just an fyi about chopping, plebes don't have to hold their arms parallel to the deck or anything, chopping is more like just jogging and squaring corners. also, with chow calls, in my company (4th, the four horsemen), we were instructed to say them as fast as possible, without worrying about how they sound. the point is more to be loud, not clear: believe me, if an 2/c didn't hear what's for dinner, he'll ask you.

"Yeah, I was in Session 1 too, and I was looking forward to the obstacle courses a lot and wasn't able to do them at Navy or Air Force."
Obstacle course was alright. It was more of a glorified run with a ropes and steep, steep drops and steep, steep uphills.

At the same station we did USMC martial arts, lots of pushups, and "played" with logs.

I was in NASS session 1 too. I'm from Georgia (hot and humid, more so than Annapolis was...at least it seemed like to me), so I thought it was a bummer to be restricted from those things. I loved the weather in Maryland. It was PARADISE.

Does anyone know what the weather is like at (dare I say it?) West Point?

It is hot at West Point, and during SLS we didn't have air conditioning... it wasn't that bad, but some people couldn't seem to live without the AC

At Session 2 NASS, the girls' wing of AC went out, even though the boys still had it. My roomie and I got a fan from our squad leader because she was sick and they didn't want her overheating, and it was awfully nice to have that little breeze machine!

I come from a high humidity and high heat place but session 1 of sls at west point was pretty hot. Imagine taking the cfa in 100 degree weather with 100 humidity (right on hudson) after taking a walking tour of the huge arsed campus for the past three hours prior. After the mile run I practically died and I'm a runner. Go figure.

Another hot day was the Camp Buckner day. Almost same conditions as that sunday, we walked around various military stations. I felt bad for the guys with the rpg and wreastling....they were in direct sunlight and wearing full uniform

Anyway..kinda funny i put this in a navy forum lol but a couple posters above inquired.
