PLebe's are calling!

Just received call from my son! So...... Sit by the phone!

Like everyone is not already!

kpdad: What intell did you collect from your son?

He sounded hoarse - Said he it was the hardest thing he had done in his life but was loving it! A lot of running - pt -a lot of shouting! Had been on an 80 foot scooner - 20 foot row boat - water classes everyday that he enjoyed. Said he was receiving letters but free time was in short supply so he had no time to write. Physically he was fine and looking forward to next weekend. All in all he sounded pretty good. Hope your call comes soon! Let us know about your call.

Outstanding! Glad to hear he is loving it. How long did your call last and was he being harassed during the call. I'll post the intell I collect from my son when he calls.

Loving it may have been a stretch!! The call lasted about three minutes. They must start the time from when they dial the number. He was not harassed - only told at two minutes and then at twenty seconds that was all the time he had. Good luck to you!

My son called around 10 am. He was hoarse too - talking very monotone and serious. I'm thinking the DI was right there. He said it was going okay and that he actually didn't mind the food. The guys are getting along great which is probably why the good report. What will make or break my son is the camaraderie (sp?) What he likes best is "the night"(???); what he dislikes are "ITs". I asked him, on a scale of 1 to 10 what would he rate his time so far. He said "a 7 or an 8"! We considered that good news.

What is an IT? My son has referred to that in 2 letters and I don't have a clue!

Got my call around 9:15 am today. Same thing...sounded hoarse....serious....and I asked if DI was standing right there and reply was yes. Said it was a lot like the AIM program at CGA last year, but harder, so that told me a lot right there. It was very hard to hear him because I think the phone he was on had a bad voice part or something. Getting more information in the chicken scratch at the bottom of my form letters LOL.

Suzannegra...

I believe IT stands for IncentiveTraining...as in extra PT that hopefully provides the incentive needed to do whatever they say in exactly the way they say!

My call came in this afternoon. My son was very business-like, and positive in his responses. His response to How do you like it there? -- "It's fun here". He didn't say it with much expression so I asked him if that was his answer because a DI was standing right there. He assured me that he liked it. Then, without any question thrown in his direction he said, "if you send goodies send enough for 30. He had no voice for the first three days and no mail on Thursday, Friday or the weekend. He said his feet hurt because of too much marching. He said they buffed the floor for an upcoming inspection.

IT is indeed Incentive Training, basically what it is used for is a little extra motivation to get things right the first time. IT sessions aren't very long, but they are quite intense. it's part of life, after indoc, IT will be a daily thing for a while. you learn to live with it
