Does anyone know if/when the plebes will go to DC, and to a baseball game? What other activities are on deck?

I believe these are staples of the last portion of PS. Just curious, not going to crash the party - will not embarass my Plebe.

Our plebe said that the baseball game outing will be sometime after PPW. Haven't heard about DC.

I heard Bowie Baysox August 15 Navy night.

Bowie's just 1.5 games behind those hot Akron Aeros.

Bowie?

As in, Bowie, MD. The Baysox are the Orioles AA farm team. Their web site (link below) shows 15 August as Navy night, and they will be having fireworks. Their park is located near the junction of US50 and US301

Bowie Baysox

It was my understanding the DC trip was not scheduled this year to make up for the late start for I-Day.... could be wrong, but that is what I heard

I heard from a few cadre that they won't be going because of the shortened plebe summer. I'm glad. It's really not long enough to warrant a whole day in DC.

Aren't they going in the week in between PPW and the start of class? Doesn't sound as though it would take away a day of training from the shortened summer.

^^^ I believe the baseball game is a "go".... the trip to Washington is a no-go.
Anytime you take 1200+ on movement orders it takes a lot of time. It may not seem like "much," but there is a lot that has to be accomplished before reform. The week after PPW will be full of other things that impact on training as it is-- computer issue, room changes, etc- and the summer has aleady been "shortened" with a late I-Day. It is my understanding the 22-mile limit has been extended to "30 miles" putting Baltimore and D.C. into play, so an opportunity for Mids to visit on their own over the course of the next 4 years.
