PLMEs and Premeds

Are premeds bitter around PLMEs? Do PLMEs worked just as hard as they do if they hadn’t had admissions to Med School. What percent of intro science classes get As? I just want to know what the Premed scene is like.

being pre-med at brown is pretty nice and laid back in comparison to a lot of places, but the reality of medical school admissions makes being pre-med competitive anywhere

about 16-20% of students in pre-med classes get A's, which is fairly standard

i'm sure some pre-meds envy PLME's (who wouldn't?), but there is is no bitterness. it's not like PLME's wear neon signs that identify themselves as part of the program, so for the most part you don't really know or think about who is PLME and who isn't.

PLME's fall into two camps. the program matriculates ~60 of the brightest and hardest-working high school students in the world, so most work hard and continue to be very ambitious. a few slack somewhat in the pre-med classes because they can, but almost put a lot of effort into other academic pursuits (because afterall, this is what the PLME program is for).

hope this helps
