So was my PM not sent?
You need to start posting in sections of CC that are not the ones listed. Build up posting history even by asking questions. Once you have 15 or more under your nameyou can pm.
Edited to add: you have 15 now, so not sure what problem is.

One reason that CC has this feature is to minimize spammers from PMing other CC members. You’d be surprised how many spammers we get - we try to catch them, delete their posts and ban them as quickly as we can when they post in the various forums, and we count on CC members to report these as soon as they see them. But yes, their damage would be much greater if new members were allowed to send PMs upon registration!

BTW - members cannot see when threads have been deleted, so it’s not always so obvious how many spammers we have to deal with. But for instance, on this forum, there are 31 deleted threads between the ‘Undergraduate Students’ thread, and the ‘Underline and Bold Thingies Not Working’ thread. We are doing our best to make this as spam-free experience as possible!
I’m finding it very frustrating that I have to make 15 posts, there are people pming me and I cannot reply, but I have no more questions to ask on other threads. Ironically I’m almost forced to spam just to be able to pm haha.
Yeah I agree 10 would be more reasonable.

I get why they do it, but I agree that 10 would be more reasonable… this is my 15th post so I no longer care! 
This thread is OLD OLD OLD. I believe you can send a PM now with less than 10 posts. Try sending me one…let’s see if it works!
