So I did a very dumb thing and sent a poem for my 500 word Princeton Essay. After reading a few threads on writing poems instead of essays I now deeply regret my decision and am somewhat freaking the hell out. I wrote the poem on the racism prompt. Will the adcoms automatically throw me into the rejection pile (aka the fiery pits of hell) or will they still consider my application? Also, I am not a published poet or anything of the sort. DO I STILL HAVE A CHANCE?????

There is nothing that will make an automatic rejection. They will read and consider the whole file. It likely wasn’t a good idea, but who knows. What possessed you, since you are implying you don’t have particular skill?

A little odd and possibly inappropriate. I know someone who went slightly outside of the box by starting and ending her essay midsentence for Penn. She was admitted.

If it was the page 217 essay, that would be expected.
