<p>pretty sure u get only 7500 and u keep it for all 8 semesters. otherwise ud be getting PAID to go to UNC and thats just not realistic.</p>

<p>The Pogue, Carolina Scholars, & Davie are all full ride (tuition, fees, room, & board) only if you're out-of-state. If you're in-state, the Pogue and CS are each $7,500 per year, and the Davie is $5000. Too bad for you if you're a resident and your family pays North Carolina taxes.</p>
<p>I believe there are just a few OOS full ride scholarships whereas there are tons of instate awards - I guess the thinking is to spread the funds, helping MANY instate students while still costing very little.</p>
<p>jerzgrlmom: Well, actually, as logosprincipal said, the full ride scholarships for out-of-state now include the Pogue, Carolina Scholars, and Davie, not to mention the Robertson and Morehead--which are full ride for both in-state and out-of-state. Lots of full-ride athletic scholarships for out-of-state, too. While a lot of other in-state awards are available, they are much smaller (in monetary terms), something around ~$2500 or less, I believe.</p>

A very reliable kid in one of my classes says that he was e-mailed on 1/30/07 with news that he is a finalist.

<p>If they will definitely be giving $$ to 5 students, then it's possible more then just 5 will be offered the Pogue. I know of at least one student who was offered the Pogue last year but turned it down because he was offered a Morehead. So maybe there will be 5 offers initially, but perhaps some alternates named, too.</p>
