girls like diamonds dont they?

I just beat LeafGreen the other day and I'm looking forward to getting Diamond sometime in the future!

omg. i don't believe this... college students still playing pokemon...

charizard, stop typing in hungarian. i can't understand it; none of us can...so stop showing off...it irritates me.

well, the only cool memory of pokemon was the crystal version where at the end i had to fight ash who is standing drammatically on a summit of a mountain...and i scorched his level 100 pikachu, slapped his level 200 charizard with...i forgot.

zubat/confusssssssssssion is annoying. =(

^Agreed. That weak pokemon does that alot. I fought a trainer with 3 geodudes which all self-destructed. I tried to fly to dodge the attack but somehow the explosion affected the pokemon while it was in the air or something. Frustrating. Oh and the new Sphinx isn't fast for an electric pokemon which sucks. It also sucks how the only fire pokemon you can catch early on in Diamon is a weak Ponyta. Watering berries frustrates me...who actually keeps track of when they appear and does that? I don't bother with baby pokemon or pokemon contests...too much trouble. And those judges are biased-they arbitarilly decide your pokemon is 'tough' just because you spent hours feeding your pokemon berries.

I find it useful to attack my teamates in the double battles. Because my teamate wastes animation-time healing just about every move, and its even useful since the only time my teamate attacks is to KO any weak pokemon I try to catch.

Are we supposed to stop doing things we find fun when we enter college or something?

Red's highest level Pokemon was 81...

How many badges do you have now, Charizard?

gyroid, u bring up a good point. in crystal version it was Red that i had to fight with, not Ash. u have a good memory for pokemon, but that wont matter now...sinc epokemon is going to die sooner or later...

but magic the gathering will subsist centuries and my knowledge on it WILL matter.

Does anyone NOT enjoy watering berries and waking up at mid-night to catch ceartain pokemon in the new games?

To sauronvoldemort:
No way! Pokemon will be around longer than Star Trek! I'm gonna give my pokemon to my children, and they will transfer them to my children's children. In fact, they will thank me for giving them rare cards and old pokemon from the old regions at a time when 1,510~ pokemon are in existance.

But yeah, you were mistaken. Although I think the first guy was wrong....wasn't his pikachu level 91 not 81? Well if you add up all the games of Pokemon I've played and replayed, I may have over 100 badges...

Yeah that scene was so cool at the end of GSC....Here's how I remember it:

Gold walks up to a guy standing alone facing the cliff on a mountain

Red: ....
black encircles the screen and music starts
Ash wants to fight!
Ash sends out PIKACHU!

At the end:
Red: ....
A bird appears out of nowhere and he flies away without saying anything

I always wondered why it said, "Red wants to fight!" when Red never said anything...

Charizard*pal*: Answer my question, fiend!

I have a relative working on getting me more badges in the DS version...sorta got tired of leveling up my pokemon on a new game....hopefully he'll beat it for me.

And how many do you have now?

Only one. Yeah, I suck. I'm still working on evolving all of my guys. I'm not a major fan of shinx either since he isn't learning any moves and I'm impatiently waiting for him to move on to the next evolutionary stage. Not only that, the time I invested in my kriketot was useless... I'm investing heavily in magikarp/gyardos and macho/machamp. My sweet "Pip-pip" (oh guess which one I chose at the beginning of the game!) is growing up soon in one-level. squeals

That's cool. Eventually my shinx evolved and learned spark, but it still hasn't learned thunder-wave making it somewhat less useful. I still prefer electric pokemon to grass though, since grass-type seem weak against nearly everything (fire, flight, ice, and more if they're also poison-type.)

I choose pip-pip too! I nick-named it Pengin! (A Japanese spelling.) He evolved though and now he looks like a King Penguin...it's a shame that they're always cuter when they're in the first stage. (...Except maybe the baby Pichu in my opinion.)

By the way, ever played a pokemon game online? There's a few online versions, including one where you can create a team (you choose the level and moves of your pokemon) and then you fight other people. I haven't been on for a while, but using a team of legendaries, I was pretty good. (Kryouge with max Sp. Attack, rain dance, rest, and surf.....Cerebi with leech seed....all the cheap tricks!) But my real fame was battling using level five bugs and metapods... Several people watched those battles.../

Where's sauronvoldemort and charizardpal? :(

I got Pokemon Diamond not too long ago! Awesome game, but I haven't put a lot of time into it lately. In my opinion, no game will ever be as good as the Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal generation...

Meh. In my opinion, the Diamond/Pearl genre is too slow-moving and patronizing. The 3D graphics slow the pace of the game, and the player is babied through too often.

Anyway, any of you beat the game with only one Pokemon? Honestly, it's not necessary to catch any other (excepting those needed for HMs). I've done it with Charizard (well, not quite; haven't beaten the Elite Four); he was literally the only Pokemon I used in battle. He was always 20 or 30 levels above the average trainers' Pokemon's level. 'Twas awesome.

Gameshark ftw. 99 Masterballs, anyone?

I used to spend 40+ hours a week on pokemon related stuff( card collecting, games etc.).

Thats was when it was still popular though.

I love that this thread is in the College Life forum, lol.
You know what's the best, is going Underground with big group of people! At Ringling precollege 8 of us would raid each others secret bases. Ah, good times.

Also fun: giving your pokemon dirty names before you trade them, that way they can't be changed ;)

No, but I am trying to beat Diamond without using any potions/healing items at all :D Let's see how far I make it!
