I read something about this on AOL, apparently they seized 20 crates of videotapes, a camera, a computer, and some other stuff from a fraternity.

They also busted someone for drug possesion, but that was supposedly "unrelated" does anyone know what is going on?

x-posted on Dartmouth thread

what happened???

This is from Channel 3 WCAX-TV News coverage:

Hanover, New Hampshire - June 9, 2006

Still little is known about why a Dartmouth College fraternity was searched by police. The frat was the inspiration for the movie "Animal House" and is well known for throwing big parties. Now it is at the center of a mystery. The frat-- Alpha Delta-- was raided by police Thursday morning. During the five hour search, several items were taken from the house including a laptop and computer hard drive. The search warrant was executed by 14 members of the Hanover Police Department. It stemmed from an investigation that was almost two years old.

"In October of 2004, we were alerted to an incident that occurred before then," says Hanover Police Chief Nicholas Giaccone.

Police won't say why they were there two years ago, or why they went back Thursday. Court documents connected to the search have all been sealed.

Two arrests were made after the search, one Thursday and one Friday, but police say those were related to drugs-- and not connected to the reason for their search.

"Right now, we know that more arrests are pending for possession of contraband. For what is believed to be marijuana. We also found some various pieces of property that belonged to the town that were stolen, and we will be following up with that, but still those were not the primary goals of the search," says Giaccone.

Giaccone said that as of right now, no immediate arrests are pending in connection with the search.

Hanover police have conducted investigations in the past at Alpha Delta. The most recent stemmed from allegations of underage drinking.

Dartmouth College is preparing for its commencement this weekend. A representative from the school decline to speak on camera, but said that the college is fully cooperating with the police investigation.
