Political Discussions at CC - Yes or No

orican's theory of terrorism:

1.) If a statement claims that Israelies are terrorist that statement is ignorant, stupid, and anti-semetic.
2.) Even the best sources such as from UN are wrong if goes against his argument.
3.) Everybody is wrong while he is right because he read all the books lol, even if his opponent provides credible sources.
4.) Any fact that he is not aware of is thus "false"
5.) No matter what happens, jews will rule the world.
6.) jews had their faults but they were minor compared to the palestinians.

Wow, with your super debating skills, you're always right! And yes you are a bigot. ;) I am sure many will agree with be from your "jews will be victorious" stance.

oorican - you should learn to accept the fact that some people in the world hold a certain opinion against Israel and they might be either right or wrong. you must accept that principle because this is the very basis of discussion.

primitive - apology accepted of course :-). I would love to keep discussing this in a new thread. did any of my oppositions got the chance to reply to my last post? i'm waiting for your response on that (not the one about oorican, the one before).

I agree completely. What I do not accept is the use of false facts.

Primitivefuture, for instance, wrote in his new thread taht the 1967 war was started by Israel.

That, Dan, is a false claim. And discussion cannot be conducted when false facts are used.

how can people call israel a terrorist nation, then claim jews control the media, and then call other people close-minded and biggoted?
How can anyone call Israel a nation of terrorists? I mean cmon. I strongly disagreed with many of the things Iraeli had done between 1997 and 2003, but even then, I wouldn't have called them terrorists. I would have called the Israeli's a fledging nation attempting to continue its survival in the face of an internal insurgency, and a nation which resorts to rather authoritarian means to achieve that from time to time.

orrican, you are right about who started that war, atleast by most credible accounts (i.e wikipedia)
Of course the Jews control the media, so who knows what to believe anymore

the jews conrtol this forum! soon all the anti-israeli post will be changed to:"JEWS ARE RIGHT!", common, cut the "jews control..." bul****, it's stupid.

what can i say...i get sucked in!!!

second of all...I am not a)ignorant/misinformed, b) stupid, or c) anti-semetic....

Trust me buddy - a) I've done my homework on this subject quite a bit...I just don't care for Ariel Sharon :)...I think he's a violent, stubborn leader who has a very turbulent past...I also think that Palestinians are holding on to the sharp end of the pole...They're not allowed within the walls of Jeruselum, there's been a mass forced exodus towards the Gaza Strip, there have been/are massacres of Palestinian citizens regularly....b) Definately don't consider myself stupid...I'm not exactly going to back myself up on that one, because I'm rather modest...so don't tempt me to break my modesty....c) I'm sorry if primitive is coming off a little harsh...I'm gonna agree with DanC on this one...you needa lighten down on the "Jews are the devil" thing...you have no right speaking against Islamic stereotypes if you label Jews as you have done so...many of them are actually very friendly....and many of them actually believe that this conflict has been prolongued and overly violent..and that both sides are just hard headed.....Jews aren't that bad man...

The Jews do control the media. Unfortunately, not all these Jews are pro ISraeli lol

The CNN administartion is full of Jews, but CNN is regarded as some what anti-ISraeli.
At the same time, Fox News, which has fewer Jews in its administration, is very ro Israeli.

a. there is no killing of palestinians regulary - that is pure nonsense, only pals are killed are ones who die during operations against terrorists - and even then many Israeli soliders die (MANY) in order to reduce the number civilians hurt.
b. many palstinian go inside jerusalem to pary regularly.
c. you may think sharon is violent and stubborn - i am not a big fan of him, yet he isn't a "terrorist" or "butcher" as many here are saying. you can't comapre him with arafat who clearly ordered to kill citizens, felt proud about it and never appologized (unlike sharon who keeps saying that the IDF is only after terrorists and if civilians are hurt along the way he is sorry).

actually, once thinking about it, that is the major difference between the Israeli goverment (throughout the years) and the pal one is: the pals NEVER shown any regret of killing Israeli civilians while all of the Israeli politic system always showed clear regret and sorrow about killing of innocent pals during an operation. that is a HUGE moral difference.
even at this point abu mazen never attacks the killing of Israeli citizens but only says that the terror attacks are "against the pal. interest and only gives sharon excuses to perform military actions in Gaza" - even he admits that if terror is active military actions is needed.

Why shouldn't CCers be able to discuss politics in the Cafe? As long as they are respectful of each other and topics don't become TOO heated, I don't see how that can hurt anyone--if you don't want to read the threads you don't have to. But on the downside, CCers with contradicting opinions will start hating each other. Maybe some of them.

The difference between Israel and the pals is that the pals intend to kill civilians, and the IDF does not.

When the IDF operates inside the territories inorder to hunt down some terrorist, pal riots erupt and hundereds of locals shoot and throw rocks at Israeli troops. What are these troops supposed to do, take it? no, they defend themselves, thus killing civilians only in self defense! The media's painted picture of the Israeli barbarians slaughtering Pals is BS.

This has gone way off topic...
