Political Science at Berkeley

Okay, I’ve seen the humanities and I’ve seen plenty of engineering. But what about political science?

How hard is it to get into your poli sci classes? And what is the quality of the poli sci classes at Berkeley?

bump .

Berkeley's Political Science program is the highest ranked in the country. From what I've heard from four current PoliSci students there, getting into your favorite classes is a bit challenging, but you'll get most of the classes you want nonetheless.

On top of PoliSci, Berkeley also offers Political Economies of Industrial Socieites (PEIS) as a major: it's the perfect blend of political science and economics. And it's also my major of choice. :-D

Poli Sci 2 is one of the foremost classes in Poli Sci, and since so many majors have it as a basic requirement, it's got lots of people, but also great professors. Typically for the Fall semesters you get Price, who has the thick New York accent which always keeps things interesting. This semester I'm taking PoliSci2 with Janos, who's hard to understand due to his accent but extremely knowledgeable.

is PEIS good? i was thinking about doing it, but not sure yet...
