Politics/IR with NYU

While we still have some time left before we all start applying to colleges, many of friends have become VERY interested with NYU, and I’ve kind of caught the bug myself. I adore New York and am only interested in larger-urban schools, so it’s a pretty good fit for me, but I haven’t really heard much about some of their academic programs.
I’m predominately interested in government-centric majors like International Relations and Politics. Do any of you hold strong opinions on NYU’s politics and IR programs? Alternatively, have you guys heard what other people (students, employers, reviews, etc.) think?

When I went on a tour of NYU, my tour guide had a double major in politics! She said she absolutely loved it. So many varieties of classes to take, and many opportunities for internships, etc.
I’ve been in love with NYU since 8th grade (just waiting to hear back in April if I got in), so I may be a little biased. It’s a great school if you can afford it, and the campus is amazing!

Hey, I’m a double major in politics and drama at NYU. From my experience the major is really quite good and I’ve enjoyed almost all of the classes I’ve taken in it so far. I’d definitely say try for the IR program though–I wish my schedule worked out so I could be in it (the drama major complicates things) and it seems like a really cool program. Good luck!
