Politics Schmolitics

I don't know everything about economic policy, but these are really funny if you're procrastinating like I am:

Teabonics: The most ridiculous - and misspelled - tea party protest signs

Tea Party Photos: Tax Day Protests From Across The Country (SLIDESHOW)

Some of the pics from the second one give me the heebie-jeebies :/

http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gadgets/slideshows/1394/slide_1394_20026_large.jpg

This one just kills me. Are the quotes meant to imply sarcasm of their political leanings, or are they just unaware of how to properly use punctuation?

“Some of the pics from the second one give me the heebie-jeebies :/”

that’s because you’re a new york scholiast

If you’re ever in need of a good laugh, just see what the Tea Party has been up to recently.

What would have otherwise been a valid point of economic discourse is totally discredited due to the fact that the majority of tea party things people see are contradictory, slanderous, devoid of fact, and usually tied to some non-economic issue. And the movement doesn’t have any charismatic figure to refine the message and publish it, so all we see are hordes of poorly educated and racist morons.

[Poll: Tea Party backers wealthier, educated](http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36528044/ns/politics-the_new_york_times/)

that’s because the average american is even dumber than the people in these photos. at least most of the signs are spelled correctly

Hey, then maybe I should join the Tea Party…except I’m not a white male Republican so they won’t like me. I’m from NYC, so I’m a commie evil liberal and I’m getting a science degree so I might even believe in that global warming nonsense :frowning: Hey, my great (x10 or something) grandpa signed the Constitution, dammit! I have random American Revolution artifacts in my house being chewed on by my dog…I’m one of you!

I don’t own a TV and there are 2 TV lounges in my dorm, but people are watching the goddammned news…Desperate Housewives is on after a 3 week hiatus…yeah, Iceland is covered in ash, we got it. They really do repeat the same 6 things over and over.

What Manhattan said. The tea party thing actually had some good promise when it started. Then the Palin/Beck/Bachmann gang jumped on board and turned it into what it is today.

Also, I do find it a bit narrow-minded to paint all members of the Tea Party with the same brush. If I just lived my life by what the media said and showed, I’d think all old folks are pedophiles, all muslims are terrorists, all blacks are criminals, and all white conservative males want to firebomb the Capitol.

Surely the last one would be a failure of the Constitution, assuming they aren’t fairly represented. So either they should feel it’s fair that their opinions aren’t represented, or they shouldn’t “believe in” the Constitution.

If this kid’s making that much money at 6 years old, he should be a lock for Harvard.

Lock for Harvard? Pfft. At that rate he’ll own Harvard!

I do wonder what the basis for that poster is, assuming it’s not a complete lie. I really can’t think of a single plausible situation. I doubt he sold thousands upon thousands of dollars at his lemonade stand…
