Politics

I'm new and don't really know where to post this, but this looked like a good place to try.

I am a high school senior, applying to way too many colleges. My main interest is Politics right now, and I hope to go one day into politics in the United State's capital. I'm applying to three EXTREMELY reach schools, all of which I'm sure would be good schools for politics, but none of which I really expect to get into--I'm sure you can guess which three... I'm also applying to a bunch of smaller liberal arts schools. But, the one thing I'm unsure about is whether going to school in D.C. might be a good thing--due to the internship possibilities. I'm thinking about applying to American. What do you guys think? Other options are Georgetown and George Washington. What are your opinions of these schools and the opportunities they offer for an aspiring public servant?
