Prideful
Decomposition :[

I dont get it though. It said in the passage that decomposition was necessary for C to be released.

Decomposition :[

I dont get it though. It said in the passage that decomposition was necessary for C to be released.

^^thats what i put and thought it mentioned that mesh bags wouldnt prevent more decomposition

I got Prideful and Water/Air.

This is really weird, since I usually get low 30’s on Reading and Science and I thought those two to be in the easier end of questions o-o

Prideful: Water/air

Carbon. Choice A.

Yeah I’m pretty sure I’m right. Considering that I didn’t even read BCD.

lol i put carbon first and I was like wasn’t the point to test the fact carbon released in the environment for global warming? the answer choice was to prevent carbon from releasing right?

Yeah. Prevent carbon from releasing. What’s so wrong about it?

Prideful and Mass

I put prideful and water/air. I really hope that’s right…my 35 depends on those

Well. The thing is that plastic mesh bags could prevent decomposition (if it was tight enough). And I really don’t think it’s the choice with not letting carbon to be released cuz that wouldnt affect the experiment and C would still be released even if the mesh bag existed. And I still don’t understand how the hell a mesh bag was needed to have water/air enter and how it even significantly affects the exp. (I might have been hasty with the reading.) And the mass one doesnt sound right.

^I agree that water/air doesn’t make any sense. The experiment was designed so that they could determine the results of global warming on the carbon cycle, right? It said after the end of the experiment that they would weigh the bags…wouldn’t a bag now containing water skew the results of the experiment?

I did end up choosing that answer though, mostly because I was completely out of time and all the answers seemed equally bad to me :/

Prideful and water/air

Cuz mesh bag wouldnt prevent carbon from being released. It’s a MESH bag. It’s not completely sealed.

Oh my god, people, the for the mass vs. water one, the section said absolutely NOTHING about water and air being needed in the litters. You guys… this isn’t supposed to be a trick question, it’s obviously that the mass needed to move in and out because THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN THE EXPERIMENT! Why would the ACT ask you to infer something not stated in the experiment? This is a standardized test for Christ’s sakes.

I also but prideful, because yet again, we can’t assume the Wright brothers were angry that the government’s measurements were different than their own. You guys always jump to such huge conclusions on the test, it’s not designed to see how well you can infer things, it’s always completely based on the passage.

^^the answer said it would prevent carbon from being released.

^^I don’t remember mass being an answer choice; I remember litter (letter D, I think) being an option, but still, if material were to pass into and out of the bag, how could they determine the effect of heat on carbon? If new carbon was brought into the bag from the surrounding soil…

^the answer did but not the passage i dont believe

^^^^ Who said anything about “angry”? The choice was b/w prideful and reliant.

I said Prideful and Water/Air

Prideful:27
Reliant:5

Mass:5
Water/air:21

I put concerned and

i vote for mass.
