I was wondering what my chances of getting into Pomona were. Here are my stats, thanks in advance!

Freshman GPA - 3.1
Sophomore GPA- 3.75
Junior GPA- 4.2 (Probable year end)
Senior GPA- 4.6 (Probable)

My SAT looks like it will be around 2000-2200 (judging from pre-tests, underscoring a little because with all the nerves on test day you never know0

SAT II- World History-780
Chemistry- 750
Biology- 740
Physics-760
US History (probable)- 750
Math Level II (probable)- 730-770
English- 740

AP tests: 4-5 on APUSH (probable)

All other AP tests will be taken senior year

I will be a recruited athlete, a lot better then the average athlete on the team

400 hours of various leadership related EC's

Editor for very prestigious high school newspaper

I have a circumstance for my low grades at beginning.

Hopefully I'm not forgetting anything to significant.

Thanks so much.

:/ Well, it’s hard to objectively say what any one person’s chances are… it depends on the person. Background is kinda important.

But that aside, and lookin at all you’ve done, I’d say your chances are good if you keep going at this level.

Also, I don’t think you need to take so many SAT II tests… if you’ve already done 4 and they’re all above 700 you don’t need to do any more. Pomona only looks at two of them iirc.

Oh I’m a white male, and my family is well off. And the reason I went crazy on the subject tests were to show that even though my grades were low to begin with, I still have knowledge from those courses.

Thanks for the input!

Pomona is one school where being male won’t hurt you, and may help. :)
