Pomona Class of 2017

It just means you’re not at the top of the list. But what you can do is make sure they know that Pomona is still top of your list and hope it moves you along the list. The wait-list movements will continue for a while yet, because right now they just know what their initial yield is. Keep in mind there will be some already accepted at Pomona who may get off the wait-list elsewhere. So there will continue to be adjustment into summer.

The wait is killing me. Has anyone else received any calls?

[/ul]General Comments:
Good luck to all rising seniors! It seems like I started this application process yesterday. Feel free to message me with any questions! (especially if you are QB) I love helping and will try to give you detailed answers! I can also give input on essays and help you get started with yours if you haven’t yet.

I just got a call from admissions. I’m in! I was not expecting this. I’m speechless. Congrats to all those who got in. For those who haven’t gotten a call yet hang in there. I’m sure you’ll be getting one soon.

I have a question for those of you who were admitted regardless of whether or not you decided to attend. Regarding the financial aid, it seems like so many of you got less than expected. I used the calculator on Pomona’s site and used that amount for the basis of allowing my daughter to apply ED1 for Fall 2014 figuring we could get loans for the amount they expect us to pay. I was wondering if you found that the financial offer was way out of the ballpark from what you were expecting? After reading this thread, I’m really concerned! If you appealed and got a much better aid package I’d love to know about that as well. Thank you!

You may want to start a new string. Your question may get lost here. Good luck.
