AspiringSquirrel-- Your stats are amazing!! While you may never know the reason for the decision, you should know that you will end up at another amazing school. That much I can guarantee!! Please come back and give us the good news when it happens.

Were there financial aid details/offers in the acceptance packages, or do they send those under a separate cover?

No news yet on 12-13-12 on early admission application here on East Coast. Does that mean a no?

Are they sent through USPS or UPS ?

It came USPS. Just got the mail and it is in a big white envelope. I will wait for my son to come home from school to open it… I think big is good, and small is bad… we are in Georgia…

Acceptances are sent in big white envelopes via USPS priority mail.

Congrats to all accepted, good luck to those still waiting and those deferred, and condolences to those who were rejected. To those rejected, do believe that you will land at a place that will embrace you and that you will embrace. (S was deferred and then rejected by his ED school and graduated from a school that he absolutely loved and still does. He felt that it actually turned out for the best.)

OMG - S got in! We live in Washington State.

Good luck to everyone still waiting on decisions. Pomona is an incredibly special place. DS was denied admission today with ~2300 SAT I, 800 SAT II scores and is a double legacy. For those of you admitted, please take advantage of everything Pomona has to offer you and cherish your time there. You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful opportunity to attend such a fantastic school!

Thanks for your encouragement, guys. I am going to reevaluate my essays and see if I can (99% unlikely) appeal my decision. I’m really upset, but looking at others who have been rejected, it’s clear test scores only go so far.

My essays were about making paper cranes for a leukemia patient in my volunteering time at the hospital, mapping human individuality in a multidimensional sense, and finding the most trivial of things and reflecting on the imagination and possibilities it carried.

IMHO I would try an appeal, what can it hurt? If that’s really what your essays involved I just don’t understand what happened to not even get wait-listed. I though your essays maybe involved how you enjoy wearing a sheet and dancing around a burning cross, lol! Then I could see the rejection. I am SO inexperienced in this college hunger games I don’t know how to proceed from here but if Pomona was your dream which I’m assuming since you ED I it can’t hurt to fight for it. Again just IMHO…
Your not a convicted felon, burned down your school, anything like that?

Hey does anyone know anything about a class of 2017 Facebook group? Thanks!

Good luck, Aspiring Squirrel. Your situation can only improve if you appeal. Go for it!!

have you received any notification? i still hasn’t got one!

still waiting on email :/

still waiting for the result…did anyone get email?

still waiting on both email and mails… what happened to the system Pomona sends emails

are there still people who haven’t received their results yet…?

I still haven’t

Still haven’t received an email.

What about everyone else?

still haven’t got email or mail, neither
