I think that’s pretty much it. Good luck!

Just got waitlisted. I’m debating whether or not I should take it. I recently lead a walkout of 700 students and was interviewed on national television, so I’m considering writing a letter talking about that and how Pomona is my first choice. I got into Wesleyan, but their financial aid is awful, and I’m also into Hendrix College and UW-Madison. I got denied at CMC and Middlebury as well. I wasn’t really expecting this much disappointment with a 3.98 gpa, 34 act, and a good essay, but I just have to be thankful to even be in a position where I have the choice of three amazing colleges.

REJECTED IN MINNESOTA!

Awkward…

Waitlisted here too. That’s okay, I have other great options and I was kind of expecting it. Congrats to all those accepted! You guys are amazing! :D

Anyone still waiting for a letter or packet? I thought it would come today for sure, but nothing. Let me know we aren’t the only ones still waiting…

^ Canadian here. Still waiting for the letter.

Accepted today in Idaho!

Rejected. Coupled with my Swarthmore waitlist, this is one of the worst days of my life.

Still waiting here in Oregon! Maybe the acceptance letter is so heavy that it’ll take yet another day to come!! LOLOLOL

D got the rejection letter this afternoon. What is meant to be, is meant to be. Everything happens for a reason (my view on life, at least). She has received acceptances by my other wonderful schools & we continue to wait on the results of one last LAC. A BIG congratulations to all those accepted – and for those waitlisted, I hope you get your opportunity!

NuclearPenguins I know how you feel. I got waitlisted at Pomona (after being deferred ED2) and Bowdoin today, knowing that neither took any off last year. This is pretty much a double rejection all the way for me. My friend (a tennis recruit) is in the same position as you. This hurts, not gonna lie.

I heard about one kid (friend of a friend) who burned his rejection letter though lol. ****ed it up hardcore. That’s mad funny lol. Here’s hoping this streak of 5 waitlists stops soon…

I do feel somewhat bitter though, that after all these months of waiting and deferrals (I sent in extra letters, made calls, sent in another rec, etc.) and dedication and interest, there’s no good end result. This was my absolute top choice, and it’s a bit saddening to have it all end here. Congrats to the accepted again.

from hong kong still waiting!!! i think its a rejection letter…can any international student tell me what the rejection letter looks like was it delivered by DHL? or was it delivered by regular mail?

Rejected yesterday. My first rejection, but not a big shock or anything. It’s probably going to be William & Mary for me, I suppose (unless a miracle happens tomorrow at 5PM).

rejected, but really don’t mind because i got into my first choice (haverford) and that’s really where i belong. VERY happy about THAT one.

zlasavitz: please forget about the appeal. those things don’t work out and you’re just prolonging a hard process. you’ll have other options, don’t worry about pomona. you’re going to be ok, but for your own sake, let it go and move on to a place that really, really wants you.

Whaoazoe–
W&M is a WONDERFUL school. A colleague of mine went to law school in Virginia, where the bulk of his classmates came from Vanderbilt, George Mason, UV Richmond and W&M, and he said the W&M students really stood out, as a group, as being very bright and very sharp. And as a Va resident, it’s a really terrific deal $$$ for you. My D picked Pomo over W&M last year, but it was a close choice-- part of the decision was as out-of-staters W&M was full price for us, and Pomo offered a decent financial aid package. Congrats.

Wiscokid-
I suppose it depends on the issue, but it may be that the LAST thing you want to do is tell Pomo admissions you recently led a walkout at your school. If your cause was truly a noble one over an egregious injustice, then maybe it’s a plus, but otherwise, to me, if I were an admissions office, you would sound like trouble I don’t need. think carefully.

@whoazoe: Jon Stewart and Glenn Close went to W&M. :)
