Personally I think you have a very good shot.

I agree with jme614. Your GPA is excellent and your test scores are in range, but what will really set you apart is your obvious devotion to theater. The other ECs show that you are also a well rounded person on top of your theatrical talents, something I feel Pomona will like.

ED2 looks good for this one, I'd say ED2 you're more likely in than deferred, and certainly very unlikely to be denied...versus RD where you are much less likely to gain acceptance

hey... just a quick question... I know for sure that Pomona is my first choice school out of those I'm applying to RD... however, i was deferred from my ED1 school, and i think that that school would still be my 1st choice over pomona... the problem is i'm also pretty much positive that i won't get accepted in the RD round for that school because the acceptance for deffered students there is like 15 in 240...

anyway, my question is how much difference do you htink it would make between applying ED2 and RD?

I'm guessing you were deferred from a top LAC like Williams or Amherst ED1, if not an ivy. Applying to Pomona would be a logical choice. However, if you're NOT sure that it's your number one choice overall, it is usually ill-advised to apply binding ED to that school.
Pomona's ED (1 and 2 combined) acceptance rate hovers around 28%, while its regular decision stands around 19% or so. The difference is marginal, especially if you're considering the fact that it may not be your number one choice.
I'd say you could easily go either way, and I wouldn't sway you one way or the other. Just be cognizant of the fact that while it does help, the help is not as significant as Williams or Amherst's benefit (19% RD --> 39% acceptance rate in ED; 20% difference as compared to 9%). And it IS binding: if you get in, you have to go.

Hope that helps. Best of luck :)
