....drum rolllllll ....

Mod ... please erase this thread ...thx

I asked this same question to a Pomona student, and they told me that "Scippsies" are considered to be the more artsy and girly students. This makes sense, considering the ceremonial tea time at 3 and that the college is female.

... so as compared to Wellesley, are the W women less girly or less inclined to traditions such as tea?

If "Scrippsies" ar artsy and girly, what are W women??

THX

Honestly, why does it matter?

The question does not really get at what I was trying to figure out ... so was hoping to get it taken down.

I was originally interested in getting a broader perspective ... not to be sold the school.

What has been more helpful using the "artsy and girlie" comment above ... i asked the same Q at other women's colleges and have found it very revealing. Now "artsie and girlie are not terribly revealing ... I would prefer more input ... it sounds like a stereotype.

A few adjectives from the attending women helps to learn what they value in their time at whatever college.

Bryn Mawr women seemed to prefer collaborative words and Smith appeared more individualistic ... even in how they reacted to the Q.

It sounds like you want to ask this on the Scripps board as the "attending women" would have the "broader perspective". And you may have done that already. The best way however is to visit, spend the night if it is a serious ccontender, spend time with students, ask questions and get a sense for fit.
Good luck.

Thank you arizonamom ... we will be revisiting soon and I did post this on the Scripps board ... I was hoping the Mod would take this down ... but no luck ...oh well.

It's okay, you have a right to ask any question in regards to what a certain school's college experience is like. My experience, from visiting Scripps, was that it had a very calming and laid back atmosphere that I really liked. Definitely visit when you can.
