Pomona VS Northwestern Univ.

I am a transfer student and I have a really hard time choosing between these two great schools... I'm a Econ major and definitely going to do business after my graduation, so job placement is very important. And I am afraid those recruiting people won't know about Pomona. I wanna hear you guys' advice. Thanks

Northwestern has a better reputation in the Midwest while Pomona has a better reputation on the west coast. I don't think it matters which one you attend if you are aiming for NYC BB.

I wouldn't know very much about job placement at either of the schools, but it would be hard to find schools that have as excellent economics programs as Pomona and Northwestern. No matter what college you attend, you will likely be able to find a great job. A cool feature of Pomona is they have an internship program where you find an unpaid internship and the school will pay you ~$10/hour with transportation to your workplace. What it kind-of comes down to I'd say is the little things. 1500 people, tight-knit community, extremely warm/sunny California weather versus a fairly large football school with a prominent greek scene, nearby Chicago with not-as-sunny weather.

IPBear,

Pomona doesn't have better reputation in the west coast. I live in LA and a lot of people never heard of the Claremont Colleges. In the world of finance/business, most people have definitely heard of Northwestern primarily because of Kellogg, regardless whether they actually recruit the undergrads there. NU also has strong reputation in the entertainment industry which is pretty visible in Los Angeles.
