Pomona vs Villanova

Hi all,
I'm an international student from China. I don't know how to choose between Pomona College and Villanova University. Pomona's reputation is prestigious but it's said that Villanova has an exceptional internship program. I haven't decided my major but I don't want to go to grad school. And they give me almost the same amount of scholarship. So which school should I choose? Please give me your advice. Thanks.

“exceptional internship program” is vague. Internship in what? Anyone can acquire an internship without even having to attend a school.
Unless Villanova’s internship program is somehow unique in your interests, I don’t see this as a thing that Villanova has over Pomona.
Also, I’m not sure if Pomona does this(i know that CMC does-or used to) but if you land an internship that is unpaid with a non profit, Pomona might pay you to do the internship.

^Villanova has awesome basketball and the atmosphere that comes with it. I would choose pomona though, definitely a more elite school, with better resources and more qualified students.

I agree, I’d choose Pomona, (better reputation, better academics, better location) unless there’s some specific program at Villanova you’re interested in. And yeah, Pomona does still pay students who are working as unpaid interns.

Yeah, go with Pomona.

Absolutely choose Pomona. Pomona is a much better school. Also, if you’re an Asian student, it’s much closer to Asia. Most good colleges have plenty of Asians (my son’s school is almost a quarter Asian), but California is a particularly comfortable place for Asian students in general.

Pomona wins. You can still find great internship opportunities at Pomona.

Pomona tops Villanova in every regard, and unless you’re a Catholic from China, you may also find the religious culture of Villanova to be extraneous to what you’re seeking in college.

Unless Villanova is offering you significantly more money, and that is your key consideration, there is no question that Pomona is the better choice. Not only is it one of the most academically respected liberal arts colleges in the country, but the weather is superb pretty much all year, the 5 college consortium of which Pomona is part, means you have five schools worth of classes and activities all within biking distance on a shared campus, and culturally, you will find many other Chinese and Chinese-American students who can help make that transition easier.

Thank you all. I’ll definitely go to Pomona.
