Pepsi is a horrible copy of a suberb drink of the gods and has an advertising campaign that actually supports yuppies

Personally I think Coke is too sweet.

everything is called cokes...at least where i live in texas.

Wait... so we're suppose to use soda instead of Pop because Singapore is the "most business-friendly nation in the world"?

Must... not... notice... that... argument... does... not... make... sense...

Must... also... stop... using... superfluous... ellipses...

Iowa = Pop
Missouri = "Sodi" (at least that was how my high school guidance counselor pronouned it)
Kentucky = Co-Cola
Tennessee = ? Lived here for 18 years and drink soft drinks all the time, but couldn't tell you what most people refer to one as!!

I hate Pepsi. Coke is by far better, although my favorite dark soda is Dr Pepper, which is its own brand. But I do like Sierra Mist (which is virtually the same thing as sprite, unlike coke/pepsi which taste completely different), and Mountain Dew. I hate when you're at a restaurant and ask for coke and they give you pepsi instead without asking. At least in some places, they're like, "oh we only have pepsi, is that okay?" so I can say, "NOOOOO it's not okay. I'll have a sierra mist instead"

I hate Pepsi. Coke is by far better

lol, you're one of those people...

I never really had a preference between coke and pepsi. Don't drink pop anymore, though.

Coke or Pepsi? Aquafina or Desani?

Dasani is definitely the better water too. Aquafina tastes worse than the crap that comes out of my tap. Dasani is however roughly equivalent to tap water gone through a brita filter so that's generally what I use now. (also much cheaper)
Another bottled water that isn't too bad is Deer Park water (is that a regional thing? I know it's like the official bottled water of Six Flags Over Georgia in Atlanta...)

lol, Russell yes I'm one of THOSE people. I did say, however, that my favorite of all the dark sodas is Dr. Pepper. I kind of go through phases where I drink lots of water and little soda, and then a few weeks where I am always thirsty because I drink nothing but canned sodas. I'm weaning myself back of them now though, by starting first with the non-caffeinated ones (sprite, etc) then back to water. The caffeine is a hard habit to break.

Does anyone else say they are going to "run the sweeper?" Every time I say that I get tons of weird looks (grew up in OH, live in FL currently).

i live in florida, and don't even know what run the sweeper means lol. is it vacuuming?

well to me, a snowmobile is a baby musical toy mobile that has snowflakes on it. I'd rather make snow than be a musical mobile with snowflakes!!! As for what we call the things that make snow...we call those...snow..makers? I really can't recall, haha :D

It is vacuuming. It's the Midwest term for it I guess.

The caffeine is a hard habit to break.

It is. I drink a lot of coffee.

Pop; from North-Central Ohio (halfway between Cleveland and Toledo)

I agree with dauntlessthedrab (post #97). Imagine the following scenario:

Someone asks me if I would like a drink. I don't get nervous; my hands don't start sweating. I think to myself: "I would like a Sprite" or Coke or Pepsi, etc. and calmly open my mouth and declare:

"It would give the the greatest pleasure if you would hand me a Sprite" or Coke or Pepsi, etc.

Just call it like it is.

New York is one of those funky states where Pop AND Soda is said. Western New York (from Niagara Falls to Rochester) we all say pop. Once you get to Syracuse its all soda.

Everyone I know calls it soda. One of my friends and I had an argument. He said soda was a type of water (carbonated water) and that "Coke" was the general term for softdrinks. I said that Coke was a brand of softdrinks (like saying Abercrombie is a general term for clothes) and that soda is a general term for any carbonated softdrink. I still have yet to hear it called pop in person. I grew up outside of DC and go to school in Philly.
