Porn at UCLA.

Oh my gosh, this is why it is so frustrating to talk to you mr muffin. You talk about your facts and how you can support everything and then DON'T. I offer examples and you say, "nice claim, where's the evidence?" Examples are evidence. You cannot easily say porn makes people less aggressive, more loving, and think more about protection because it is disputed by FACTS. EVIDENCE (in this case, the countless examples) suggest the opposite. Nobody will believe you and they shouldn't - true. Millions agree with my point of view and what I said above and the should. Tylenol does not have the inherent danger or potential for abuse that pornography does. One has physical effects only, the other is a total mind-altering drug of sorts. The point about the porn industry's abuse and the abused women who are drawn to it is to say sexual abuse as a child creates poor self-images in which victimized women see themselves as good for only satisfying the sexual desires of men. They see them as objects. Thus they go to pornography in some cases, showing that that is how the industry treats them. They are broken, disturbed women in the industry who don't know that they can have any other life. That is why they, in a way, cannot choose to be in porno. Additionally, once you're in and a success, the pressure and threats toward already-broken actresses essentially force them to stay in the industry. Whenever I make any sort of emotional appeal, I'm looking for your heart but failing to find it every time. This is why I can't argue with you - it's too depressing to see where humanity is heading! Why did I abandon the religion debate? Because it takes a very large book to prove that sort of thing, and this is not the place to write a book. Also, threads being deleted tend to cut me off mid-debate on here (why's this one still going?).

And I asked the last question of Coffeebreak, not you.

sex leads to BABIES!
Coffeebreak, if you think porn is bad, why indulge???
the same reason why i indulge in cheeseburgers and ice cream. even though its bad, its still GOOD.

hahahhahaha ftw

You guys post too fast for me to join in the debate! I should stop getting all those abortions.

Anyway, the only point in my head that sticks in my alcohol-clouded mind right now is amateur (married!) porn is fun, and nobody is forced into it. And they always giggle. YAY HAPPY PRAWN

"Oh my gosh, this is why it is so frustrating to talk to you mr muffin"

see, salty, now didn't i warn you?

you haven't asked me to back up what i said. not like i have anything to back up anyways since i'm not making any positive claims (or am i? don't remember). anyways, if i say something and you don't tell me to give you a source, it's the same as you accepting what i said as true

"You scoff at a single case, but I tell you there are millions of them, based on the ease with which I can find other examples of individuals and family being destroyed by pornography. It is well-documented that the adult film industry is rife with physical abuse."
^this is not evidence. it should be obvious why

what INHERENT danger? you're just making things up at this point. and what does physical vs psychological have to do with anything? not like there's a clear separation between the two categories anyways

show me a study saying sexually abused women see themselves only as sex objects. then show me a strong connection between sexually abused women and the desire to work at a porno.

i don't know much about porn fame, but are there really famous porn stars that are as important to the porn industry as say, kobe bryant to basketball? i'd think if someone left, someone just as attractive can be found easily as a replacement. anyways, as i said before, nobody forced the person to work at a porno instead of a mcdonalds. and if the person is mistreated in making the porno, s/he can create a lawsuit. if she's too embarrassed to do that because people may look at him/her badly for being a porn star, then that's just society's intolerance that creates the problem isn't it?

this doesn't even make sense

For guys, porn is for getting off
just dont get addicted please. go out, get urself a real girl and know the difference between real girls & porn stars. We're not the same.

For girls, we're just curious and sometimes we learn something from it.
nothing much with girls and porn. i watch it out of curiosity.

For ppl who are against porn, just don't watch it.

To Ookla - I'm not single <3

Well regardless to what Mama salty has to say about porn... i def wanna go see this one, looks interesting.

... I'm a girl and I definitely watch it to get off, nice generalization there.

Hmm, this thread is starting make wish I went to Berkeley, though I imagine the uber-liberals would annoy me almost as much.

i like how asura totally disappeared off the face of this board after my retort.

mr muffin, a simple google search ought to satisfy your desires for evidence, studies, etc. And if that last part didn't make sense to you, you are probably drunk with Pink.

Oh one more thing to my general audience. Not relevant, and I don't recall if I've seen it in this debate, but in past ones people accuse me and Christianity in general of reserving sex for procreation only. I believe it is for more than procreation and I know for a fact that the Bible never says it is for procreation only. That's just a fabrication of the Catholic Church of old (I don't remember if they still say that, but it's not in the Bible in any case).

SKM, that is the first time in my life I've been called mama salty. Document the occasion. And remind yourself that even though I'm a "prude" I'm also still a "dude."

Uh, yeah, I've said what I came to say. My food for thought is out there. If you want studies and evidence and research, go find it yourself. I'm just a little voice reminding you to reconsider your views. All done. Good-bye.

i'm not going to do you homework for you. if you want to convince anyone, try making sense

im not even going to read the previous posts in here since it seems like people are arguing.

When it comes down to it people, omgbewbs.

JESUS IS LORD

Charisma - u can still transfer to Berkeley
good luck

kisses Charisma's cheek

Don't hurt me, I'm a chick.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall when muffin and salty meet. :D

haha i don't judge people that easily :P

Didn't read everything because of my friendly term paper, but I did want to throw this in:

I agree with Salty minus the religious angle. UCLA makes big talk about diversity, equality, and fairness, but they turn around and support a medium that clearly degrades women. It's hypocritical, unprofessional, and unethical.

To be frank, as a woman, I am quite offended by porn and those who try to justify it. Besides, it's not only degrading to women but also to men. It stereotypes them as narrow-minded fiends without substance and without intellectual depth. Thus in the spirit of equality and in healthy depictions of sexual relationships, I will never condone pornography.
