Portable Room Humidifier?

Anyone have any recommendations for a portable room humidifier for travel? Not a voice steamer, but something one can leave running in the room to increase the room's moisture content.

I see no one has responded. I think probably this is not seen as too much of a problem for most - but I do know what you mean about those electric heating units near the windows at many hotels. They can create a very dry heat. So, this might sound overly simple, but I have sometimes dampened a towel and put it on or near the blower. For longer stays a shallow dish of water on the heater will do as well. In any case, I think any discomfort is easily overcome with a hot steamy shower before you leave for the audition. Good Luck.

Thanks mtdog71 - good tips. We are definitely not used to forced-air heat as we have natural gas. We went to an audition last weekend and were raisins in the morning!

Our local CVS (an eastern drugstore) has little humidifiers that you fill with a bottle of water. It works nicely in a small space. You just need to be sure to keep it clean. I imagine it won’t survive for a real long time, but it would be nice for travel…

Thanks snoggie - I found one . . . http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UB8358</a> It’s a good size so should pack well. I’ll let you all know how it works!
