portuguese for spanish speakers

<p>Hey guys!</p>

<p>Has anyone taken the intro to portguese for spanish speakers class? I've taken the bilingual spanish 610d before and that was absolute hell, I'm interested in learning portuguese so that I can go to the world cup but I'm afraid that I might die in this class considering it's an accelerated course and the fact that I'm not a 100% fluent in spanish but I have completed the prereqs for the class!</p>

<p>My daughter took Portuguese 601 last semester and said that it was much different than Spanish, especially the verb tenses. She did really well in it, but she is very talented in languages. If you struggled in Spanish, she said that Portuguese would be even more difficult.</p>
