So it seems like yesterday that I posted on this site for the first time about my daughter being admitted to Tufts ED1. She is now graduating and found a job in NYC through the Tufts Student Career Center (I don’t know the exact name), after hearing from multiple sources that it was largely useless. She has been wanting to work with nonprofits in NYC, and will be working at a small startup in Brooklyn that does marketing and PR for nonprofits. It was exactly the type of job she wanted; granted, the money isn’t great, but nonprofit money never is. So don’t give up on Tufts helping you find something you’re looking for!
She will be graduating with a major in Child Development/Developmental Psychology and a Minor in Media and Film Studies. She was very active in WMFO and is currently the Assistant General Manager, spent a year in Barcelona her junior year through a non-Tufts program (CIEE), and has been tearing it up senior year, living off-campus, throwing dinner (and other) parties, and enjoying her last bits of Boston, a city she never grew to love. She rushed a sorority but decided against joining, and never looked back. I think for the most part, she has loved Tufts, though wished it had more of a social scene outside of frat parties. She never had an internship, something we thought would lessen her job prospects, but she worked a lot in the non-profit arena, so that paid off.
Good Luck to all and remember to check in with Tufts Student Services – you never know!
