Posse scholarship 2020

Do they email students rejections?

@ThNewman5 Yes they email students rejections. I have a friends from Posse NYC who said they received a rejection letter on Oct 22.

@maryx123 Got it thanks!

So if you donā€™t hear from Posse by Nov. 1 is everyone just not submitting any ED or EA that require a Nov. 1 deadline? It seems hard to give up other options without knowing if you are even a finalist.

My child is from Posse Chicago. We had our parent student meeting yesterday evening for students selected for the final round for Connecticut College, Trinity College, and Middlebury. The students have till Monday at 2pm to decide if they want to continue after hearing whatā€™s involved and costs to parents (room board, books, insurance, etc). If they decline, Posse will move on to the waitlist. They did mention meetings for Agnes Scott and Cornell however Iā€™m not sure when and if those happened. Good luck to all finalists!

@chgmc1 thanks for the update. My child is also Posse Chicago but hasnā€™t heard anything (didnā€™t rank those 3 though). Any other Chicago people hear anything?

Hey everyone! My daughter is in NYC and she was matched with her #1 College, Connecticut College. We had the family meeting on Friday evening.

@chgmc1 thank you! My child had Cornell as his #1, so maybe thatā€™s that for his pick. Trinity was #5 or 6 for him. We have not heard anything.

@chgmc1 May I ask what day did Posse contact you to let you know their decision?

From what I have heard from Chicago Posse, Middlebury, Trinity, Pomona, University of Wisconsin Madison, University of Michigan, and Connecticut College have all had their meeting on Friday. I think they already chose everyone for the 10 schools, they are just waiting for the students and parents to accept or decline the offer by Monday. If they chose to decline then they will move onto a waitlist for each school.

Thank you!!!

@lizg1119 We have the same question about the ED since the finalists result for our posse branch will be out next week, and we donā€™t want to miss the ED for other school. Just donā€™t know if we can switch ED to posse matched school if we make it to the finalist.

Can you apply early action to a different non posse partner school while waiting to hear your DAP 2 results? I havenā€™t heard back from Posse DC and the deadline for early action and early decision is this sunday.

From the discussion on this thread so far, looks like 5 posse cities (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, LA and NY) have started rolling out emails to their finalists. Anyone on this thread from other posse cities (Bay Area, DC, Houston, Miami and New Orleans)? Have you heard anything or did anyone reach out to their posse foundation offices?

@Momof0ne Iā€™m from Posse DC and havenā€™t heard back yet. I also have a friend from Posse DC who hasnā€™t heard back either. Iā€™m hoping that they just havenā€™t sent out the finalists letters to anyone yet.

We just got a phone call from Posse Houston, my daughter is a finalist for her first choice college. We have a parent meeting on Wednesday at 5:30 PM and decisions are due Thursday by 3:00 PM. Congratulations to all the finalists and good luck to all those are still waiting to hear.

We are Posse ATL. Today we received an email for supplemental questionnaire since Posse need more information to know students better as they are making their decisions. Any of you finalists already answered these questions? Just curious.

@Momof0ne Congrats to you and your daughter! Exciting!

Thank you @liveonboca !

And Special thank you to @MWolf !

@liveonboca Has your child heard back yet?
