How does posse scholarship work? DD just got nominated by her school. I see the list of colleges. If she is interested in one of the colleges on this list more than the rest of them, should she just mark this one on application or she will be able to choose where to apply scholarship when selected?
Anyone? Any Posse Scholars?
You could try google or private messing people from these threads.
@Madison85 Thank you. Very helpful.
There are FAQs on the Posse Foundation website that may help answer your question.
It looks like people occasionally post about Posse on College Confidential under the Other Major Scholarships forum.
Best of luck to your daughter!
Thank you @Madison85
My son is a Posse scholar at UW Madison from Los Angeles. If your daughter makes it to the second round or third round of interviews ( I can’t remember which, it has been awhile) then she will be asked to put down her first three choices of schools. If she is selected as a Posse finalist, she will be assigned to one of those 3 schools. The Posse staff tries to give you your first choice, but occasionally a student is appointed to their second rated university. If, for example, she was selected as a Posse finalist to a school she is not interested in attending, then at that time she could decline the offer of becoming a finalist. Each Posse city is only connected to certain universities. She is not able to pick from all the colleges and universities on the entire list. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me and send me a PM.
Thank you @Rousse54 I PM you.
Anyone applying this year? I guess this is not the most popular scholarship that is why this forum is so quiet. I think it was somewhere on application when the transcripts are due. I cannot find this information anymore.
Did anyone get interview date notifications yet?
My sister is a Posse scholar, and since she’s a “Posse alumni”, she nominated me for Posse this year. They sent me an email and I filled out the application in June. I got another email later saying that they set my interview date in early September.
