<p>I want to know if it is possible to ask an optometrist for an internship or a job shadowing. Because I might have some extra time to do it this summer.</p>
<p>Depends on where you live. It doesn’t hurt to ask, but it may be a little too late by now. In my area, I wanted to volunteer anywhere in the hospital, but they already did the “sign-ups and interviews” in April… crazy, I know.
Try something else if that doesn’t work out. 
There are animal pounds, orphanages, NPO’s, clinics, and stuff of that sort where you can help out and at least it’s helping your local community. But, it’s not really a good idea to do these kind of activities if you don’t like it. Quality is better than quantity always.</p>
