Hi all, I am currently a freshman and I am think of taking these class for fall2011
[quote]
Chem 3A/3AL with Pedersen (Excited)
Stat2 with D'Abrera (YAY)
Physic 8A with Liphardt (sigh...)
French 2

So, Chem and Physic is for MCB/Med School requirement and Stat2 is my last pre-req for psychology. and French is just for interest. This is 18 units total. do you think that this is doable (I have not taken any stats/physic before.. I am okay with math/calculus though)??

Also, I just received my telebear appointment time, my phase one is Apr.25, 2011. I dunno now if how my dates compare to other people's time slots. But which classes do you guys think i should phase I first? I am thinking of french and chem. but i am not too sure though.

Thank you so much guys! Any comment or suggestion would be greatly apperciated!
Hope you guys have a wonderful springbreak. It's almost here.
Good luck with midterms/papers and stuff!!!

i’d say this looks very doable. stats 2 is fairly easy is youve had AP (or even if you hadnt). i personally hated physics because i never had a proper teacher in HS, plus i just hate it. Watch out for mastering physics…chem 3a/3al is pretty easy if you go to SLC study groups. And I have taken a a few lang courses and found them to be just easy busywork

If you can…try not to take chem 3A/3AL, physics 8a, and stats together… that might make your semester pretty stressful… if you can, put off either physics or stats, and take an easier psych class (if you can get into one of the psych upperdiv’s of them - that’d be great.)

I say this is defintiely doable if you manage your time well. I’ve been told that Stat 2 is just like AP Stats so not too bad for a college math class. For Chem3A/3AL, just keep up with the problem sets and don’t procrastinate (nearly 70% of the lab class gets some form of an A). The only class I’d be a bit worried about is physics since you have no background in it and Liphardt is not a good professor. I have him for 8b this semester and going to lecture is pretty much useless. However, he posts his lecture slides on bspace so going through them at your own pace can be helpful. Having a good GSI is essential for physics. I’ve never taken French, but if you find it enjoyable like most people I know who take language courses, shouldn’t be too bad. You’ll be spending lots of hours in class so time management is key! Good luck!!
