Jaug-- are you a minority/legacy/have connections?

She should be getting up at 6:20 AM Singapore time, which is right about now. Hopefully she'll be here soon with the good news.

Congrats to all the aceptees... Hang in there deferees...

I'm sorry to the rejectees. Columbia doesn't deserve you.

guys post your stats for posterity.

What ****es me off is that I have to rush to fill out 12 apps now. Then I will have to waits some more months before knowing where I'm going, and then there is a possibility that I get rejected from ALL schools. (I really don't have any safety schools besides UMiami and BU, and I unno if BU counts as safety).

thanks kiki81ny....i just hope i get in RD...although i know the chances are slim...what really saddens me i that my mom can't go to Korea during my spring break...my grandma's sick and she can't ride airplane...but my mom said she's gonna go during my break to visit her since i can go to my family store instead of her...but now that i got deferred, she's gonna stay with my until April......................

does the letter actually SAY the words accepted/deferred/rejected?
I can't tell on mine. I mean, I didn't get in, but it doesn't say D or R. I think that means R, right?

You should be able to tell. If it says something about spring, you'll know you're deferred.

oasis131..wat were ur stats?

rejected...

I'm crossing my fingers for you Jskim, so keep yours crossed for me :)

The first sentence goes:"The Committee on Admissions has carefully considered your application as
an Early Decision candidate to Columbia and has decided to defer a final
action on your application."

What does the rejected letter state?

OK, thanks. I was rejected then.
My stats -

It looks like everyone get deferred and I'm the only rejectee. I don't get it.

its possible that Columbia accepted less ED applicants this year in an effort to "level the playing field" as was stated in one of the Spectator articles someone posted earlier. perhaps that means higher acceptacne rates come april. one can only hope....

jskim, i get the same feeling too, but i'd hate to resort to blaming my financial status. good luck to you, hope we both get in RD!

higher acceptance rate for those who got deferred.....hopefully.........................

yeah, SpeckTackYouLerr..I guess we're in the same situation...hopefully, we'll meet next fall as Columbia students...you won't be able to see me for next couple of months until end of March..since i'll be busy filling out other apps and going to the store to help my parents...
