I'm applying to New Hampton, Suffield, Blair, Peddie, and Taft. My post office will mark all my letters as sent on January 17th since they are not open on Sunday or this Monday due to Martin Luther King Jr. day. Will they still accept my applications and will the be considered on time?

(I know I should have submitted it all earlier but I started this process late, so there's nothing that can be done)

First, a qualification: I am not personally familiar with those particular schools. But, for most of the schools most frequently discussed in this forum, there is quite a bit of leeway for technical problems (with online app’s), postal delays (with mailed app’s), and just general, run-of-the-mill screw ups. They do not screen for untimely submission and automatically send those app’s to the “reject” pile!

Relax, be happy they are on their way, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

So if I end up having it postmarked by this Tuesday, all should be hopefully all right?

I’m only saying Tuesday because I know of one school (I don’t believe it was one I was applying to because I vaguely remember) said they were extending the deadline because the 15th is on a Sunday this year and Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

These schools will be getting floods of mail over the next week or two. I really, really doubt they scrutinize every piece of mail that comes in in that time period for a postmark. I think you’ll be fine.
