post-multivariable courses to take, and where to take them from?

Hi,

I took Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra as a sophomore in high school. Now, I am planning on taking, Differential Equations, Analysis, Modern/Abstract Algebra, and one other course. I was wondering if anyone knew of places where I could take these courses. I know that there is Stanford's OHS program, but since they discontinued EPGY upper level math, the courses are either 1200 dollars through OHSx or more through OHS. I though about going through CTY JHU since I had qualified there previously, but they only have Differential Equations, and no other options after that.

What would be a cheaper alternative and/or an alternative that allows me to continue taking courses through them (ie: they offer DiffEq, Analysis, Algebra, etc.)

I know about MIT Open Courseware as well, but I would like to make that a back up choice, and go through an accredited source if possible.

Thanks!

Your local community college or local state university. Depeding on your state the costs could be subsidized by the school district. For example I live in Florida, and the state pays all of the tuition and fees including books.

Yah, unfortunately, the local community college does not offer courses past Multivariable Calc (Calc III), which I have taken. Also, a local university does not exist around where I live, at least a 30-45 minute commute would be necessary. do you have any other ideas?

Are there any 4 year colleges around you? Private maybe?

unfortuantely, no there are not.

You could also look into online classes if you’re really motivated. Or just get a textbook and self-study, along with going through MIT OpenCourseWare material. If there are no universities near you, then it will be difficult getting credit for the work though…

EPGY has classes up to partial differential equations and more.
