What’s the deal with Calculus AB vs. Calculus BC? A lot of CCers take them both in separate semesters, but at my school you have to take one or the other, with the general idea that BC encompasses all of AB and then some.

^Yea, that’s what I heard. I’m taking AB because I’m lazy :P

At my school, you can take AP Calc AB after Hn. Precalc for a full year course… the only people at my school that end up being able to take AP Calc BC are those who take AP Calc AB as juniors. In order, students take Alg I, Geometry, Alg II, Precalc, and then finally Calc (CP & AP Statistics can be taken whenever as long as its after Alg II) . The majority of CP students who start w/ Alg I in their freshman year only reach Precalc by senior year, while the students who took Alg I in middle school reach Calc. My school gives students who have done really well Alg I in middle school the option to double up on math classes (Geometry & Alg II) during freshman year, so those few kids are the ones that end up taking AP Calc BC after AB as juniors.

APUSH is the only AP possible during Junior year due to impossible pre-requisites for the others. So I might self-study AP World, but I kind of have an impossible amount of EC’s, so we’ll see. Oh, and I might do a dual enrollment but that depends on how I do during my DE summer course.

My schools are weird because I’m at a governor’s school (GS) half the day and my regular school the other half. My regular school doesn’t have any APs before junior year or any APs like Psych.

What grade are you going to be in?
