Plese post your IB scores here, along with which university you are currently attending. Feel free to share with us the breakdowns of your scores, as it will greatly help high school seniors on evaluating their chance.

bump.......

bump!

I'm an IB senior student as well and that would really help!

What subjects are you taking, anonamous?

HL: math, physics, chemistry
SL: economics, english A1, thai B

how bout u?

Haha I just finished my last IB exam yesterday. I'll be attending UT Austin next year. My scores/classes:

HL: Math, Economics, English
SL: Physics(4), Computer Science (5), French

I got rejected from UT Austin :"(
and i thought my IB scores (in report cards) were pretty good.... lol

HL: math, physics, chemistry, and A1 English
SL: economics (took it last year though and got a 6) and french B

btw, didn't you find math paper 3 SO HARD compared to papers 1 and 2??

I'll be attending Northwestern this fall. What about you anonamous?

I am still choosing (either U Melbourne or UNSW). Yes math p3 was damn hard!! what option do you do? i did series and differential equations

yea me too...the second page was ****ing hard!! the first page was easy though...I'm expecting a 4 in paper 3 tops. The problem is my teacher predicted me a 7...so I hope I did really well p1 and p2 to compensate...my other exams were okay though..except for p1 physics which was also very tough.

I don't think we'll have many posts here since most people do AP instead of IB...

If there are any former IB students out there, please post your stats!! It will be greatly appreciated :)

All of my friends said physics p1 was tough, but i thought it was pretty easy... anyway in Math p3 i made some very stupid mistakes (for L' Hospital rule, i differentiated wrong). Anyway man, I am from Thailand, and out of all the top schools in Thailand, I hear that no1 has even attempted question 5... lol

hmbk - do you know how the math p3 will be scored? will they compare the scores directly with people doing other options or will they compare it only with people who do the same options and put it into a scale of averages?

When do the teachers predict your scores? Do they do this on their own or do you have to tell them. *for college admissions purposes?

In my school, the teacher predicts everybody's score. But i did not send me predicted scores since it doesnt require. I wanted to but my counceller is weird, and i guess she didnt bother getting it sorted... lol

Predicted IB scores are required for people applying to the UK or Australia, not US.

We had to tell our teachers to predict our scores for college admissions reasons...we aren't allowed to see our scores but my math and chemistry teachers told me my predicted scores..I just hope I can meet them...

anonamous - I'm not sure how it will be scored, but I did notice that practically everyone barely answered the second page of differential equations so I bet we'll have a pretty nice curve..hopefully. However, I do think that they create grade boundaries for the whole paper 3...I personally find that to be unfair because some of the options were easier than others. I'm not really sure though...let's hope for the best man...we're the only IB school in my country (Kuwait) and there are only 7 Math HL students in all haha...and we ALL found it to be very hard...and it seems that way elsewhere as well...so I bet the IB will have lower grade boundaries...

I made A LOT of very stupid mistakes in physics p1...but I found p2 and p3 to be very easy actually...so that will compensate...otherwise, all other exams were quite easy...I just have chemistry left and I hope that goes well (especially that I'm majoring in chemistry). Good luck with your exams! :)

Everyone that I know found math p3 hard too, so yes they will probably have low grade boundary like you said. I need to get 7 for math!! becuz im going to apply for transfer to the US after my freshman year in australia.

I also have chemistry HL exam left GL to both of us :D

PS: Im majoring in EE/Physics, so i better get 7 for physics as well.. lol

btw i saw my predicted score. my councellor gave me a sheet that shows my predicted for every subjects. on top of that the teachers also sat down to discuss with me what he/she should predict me, and alot of people get overpredicted because they convince the teacher, and kept stalking them until they predict them what they want.. lol (im not one of them!)

haha...I'm aiming for a 6 in physics...I usually do very well on past papers but p1 will lower my score to a high 6 at the very most. I really like chemistry and I don't find it hard at all (not as hard as physics) so I hope the exam will be very easy this year as well...then again, I was surprised that exams this year were much harder than the past papers. I'll stop ranting now lol..good luck! :D

haha, that is the exact reason why we're not allowed to know our predicted grades in our school (so we don't stalk our teachers or pressure them or anything haha) but I also think it's because you don't get too overconfident if you're predicted a high grade. I know this guy who was predicted a 7 for economics SL and got a 7 on his mock exam..he was too overconfident that he'll do well so he didn't study as much and ended up with a 5...a 5 is good but a difference of 2 points b/w ur predicted grades and real grades does not look good.

I just took most of my exams so I have yet to get my scores yet but...

HL: English A1, History of the Americas, and Film
SL: French, Physics (3), Math Studies (6)
Certificate: Environmental Systems

I also took AP calc AB so I didn't get out of math senior year

Oh yes hmkb, is it just me or do i feel like the American universities dont credit IB as much as british or australian universities do. I mean some people are doing A levels instead of IB right, but I did A/S level math (which is an extended version of A level) 2 years ago, and got an A! But IB is alot harder, and I just dont see the colleges giving them the credit they deserve.

My friend with a predicted 29 IB points got into imperial college, london!!!!!!!!! And I with a predicted 38 points got rejected from universities like UT Austin and U of Michigan!!
