<p>I understand that some of these squadrons have differing reputations for the academic year. Can any of you enlighten us on this score? Which one is brainy? Which one has the most on probation? Which one is always in trouble but that trouble has nothing to do with academics? ;)</p>
<p>It's always hard to say. With the graduation of the seniors and the shuffle of the new sophomores, only half a squadron remains constant from year to year. Things like academics, probations, etc. are nearly impossible to predict from one year to the next. The atmosphere of a squadron tends to change a little more slowly though. First Group has a reputation for being the stractest/most hardcore, while Fourth Group is generally on the other end of the spectrum. 1, 2, 4, 21, 22, and 24 are commonly known as tougher squads for freshmen (more training, less privileges). Again though, a lot of this info is secondhand or generalized, and things do shift back and forth from year to year.</p>

<p>24 is hard, but the '09 guys in 24 who are now the seniors are some of the better leaders at USAFA IMO, although I'm a bit biased...</p>
<p>Like Petko said though, the squads change from year to year, so even though a squad may be known for something one year, it may not be known for the samething the next year as well. In my experience it depends on the 4-digs and seniors the most though, as they usually have the greatest influence on how a squadron does in the rankings.</p>
<p>And unfortunately stvblm, that's not true. USAFA tries pretty hard to keep the mix pretty standard, but each basic flight will develop a reputation once they're in their Ac year squad of either screwing up more, or being better academically, or being more fit, etc.</p>
