I got a post card in the mail today, it said:

Dear Applicant,

With this postcard we acknowledge receipt of the admissions documents needed to reivew your application to Yale.

We assume that we will receive, or have already received, official copies of your standardized test scores either on your high school transcript or directly from the testing agency. If you asked that your score be reported to Yale, you should assume that we will have them.

It is not necessary to call or write to us to check on the completeness of your file. We will contact you or your school if we need any further information. Thank you for your interest in Yale.

I'm a little confused as to what it means. In the initial confirmation email, it said that I would receive a letter (I did, it had a PIN in it) and a postcard when my file was complete/missing stuff. So I'm assuming thats what this card is, but it doesn't say that it's complete since it has all that stuff about scores and assuming they have them. That doesn't sound very concrete to me. Does this mean they have all my part/teacher recs but not necessarily the scores (since people can still take Jan administration)? Or is it just saying that my file has been started (again)?

don't worry about it - they have lots of stuff going on. they'll call your guidance counselor if they need anything. they told mine they needed my SRR - which doesn't exist. crazies.
you need to make sure that you got the college board to send an OFFICIAL transcript of your SAT scores to yale, though. you either requested it on the website, plugged in yale's number when you registered, or put the number on your identification sheet the day of the test.
does that make sense?
and yes, that is a terribly written postcard. it totally threw me off. in essence, it says 'leave us the hell alone,' which is great advice.

-I sent my scores in June, and my other schools (which i sent to at the same time) got them so I think Yale should have them.
-I applied online like Dec. 19 or something.
-I already had my interview, so that's it? No more contact from Yale until April 1?

yep!
you can still chill here, which TOTALLY stressed me out and made the weeks leading to EA decisions hell, and if you want you could come visit me and we'll walk by the admissions office and try to stare in the windows, but they're sorting through 20K applications right now and the last thing they want to do is talk to you and eighteen thousand of your friends.

lol we'll bring them milk and cookies? But perhaps they need a drink more, but I don't think I want them reading my app drunk =/

When I visited the first time it was the end of March and the guy (was it James Nondorf?) giving the info session was so fed up after reading so much that all he could say was "cut it down! you don't need a three page resume!!" lol it was funny

I know what you mean about cc being stressful. I was on the pton board during ED decisions and it definitely made it worse for me. Then I gaine some distance and discovered I wasn't as shattered as I thought I was. I think cc amplified everything.

hah that's good advice!!
And I already brought them cookies... yesterday. They get a lot of stale cookies from RD applicants, so I figured it was time for a change. They might think things were a little odd if we did it again. ;)
and CC is definitely an amplifier. things are not as much fun on this board since EA decisions... I miss the old board.

Same with me and Princeton. I miss the old board there but I'm definitely glad I'm moving around a lot more on my other schools' boards and discovering that it's a lot of fun here.

I wonder what kind of cookies they get from EA rejectees?

LOL
yeah "special" as in bad acid. who would waste good cookies on a committee that rejected them? i wouldn't go near those if i were in admissions...
actually, yes i would, i eat anything remotely dessert-like
