Posts on Forums seem to be down considerably

I teach classes for homeschoolers and this year we have a particularly good group graduating. Some of these kids have won many state (and even a few national) Science Olympiad medals, play sports or have jobs or volunteer, do AP or DE, and do all of the things that make them solid, competitive applicants. When asked where they plan to go, the primary goal for most is avoiding debt, and those students look at schools with automatic merit. Directional state Us, State Tech, State U and its branches, and a few OOS schools with good merit are the primary contenders. Some of the kids are only applying to one or two schools where they know that they will be admitted with good aid to study their desired field. It seems possible that there are more kids who don"t need a lot of advice about colleges because of these priorities.
