Hey guys!

Definitely interested in GWU. Have looked at the academic profile and student profiles of the school and it is really what I'm looking for. However, I'm planning on going into an undergraduate business school and not a political science/foreign affairs program. I know that their business programs aren't as great as their poly-sci/foreign rel departments. How true is this? I know the location has a lot of perks to DC business internship wise, but the ranking definitely scares me. I know GWU is a great school, but the name isn't that well-known (from Midwest, could be wrong about East Coast relevance). I sort of want that prestige for career expansion, but I can get over it.

Also, I've been looking into scholarships and other benefits because I will be full pay. One scholarship in particular that caught my eye was the Scottish Rite scholarship on their scholarships page. I looked at the application and it's extremely simple for a half tuition worth scholarship. What is the deal with that? My grandfather was in the Scottish Rite so I do have the prerequisites but I want to know if it's really competitive and other facts about it.

Also, what are the average statistics of a student awarded a Presidential Scholarship? I looked over the threads in this forum and they seem to be all over the place for who is awarded.

Thanks!
