And I'm not going to be a music major. So I'm wondering if there will practice rooms with drum sets for non-music majors to use with a fee. I've heard that similar arrangements exist at other schools like SUNY at Buffalo, but I googled it and I'm still not sure if these rooms are available to non-music majors at Binghamton.

Any info or advice would be great!
Thanks!!!

I think you need to contact the music department. I know that there are practice rooms, but I have no idea how available they are or what they contain. Some do have pianos.

There is a percussion practice room that has mallet percussion instruments, and you can set up a snare drum. The only room that I know of that has a kit set up is the Jazz Ensemble room. In order to have a key to that, you must be a section leader in the jazz band, or lead a group that needs to access that room. You might be able to arrange something with the jazz director or music department if you are charismatic enough.

As far as practice rooms go, keys are issued to non-majors, but they must be enrolled in a music ensemble of some sort(orchestra, symphonic band, piano, jazz, …). Some theatre students are issued keys too.

Your drum kit will likely fit in your dorm. I brought my keyboard last semester, and its large(88 keys), and I managed to fit it. You may have to sacrifice your refrigerator though.
