Does Foothill have music practice rooms? I know about the practice rooms at Morrison, but music majors have priority on those, and I'm not sure how easy it is for a non-music major to use them. I know that the units have practice rooms, or at least the building I saw during my tour had one. What about Foothill? If not, I would be interested to hear practicing strategies from current or former Foothill residents, particularly from classical musicians. Thanks!

I also have this question.

Even though music majors have the priority on practice rooms at Morrison, it is almost always never filled. There are also practice rooms at the basement of Ceaser Chavez Hall.

I’ve seen several people practice in the rec rooms in Bldg. 1 and 5.

Thanks for the responses so far. So just to confirm: There are no practice rooms, other than the rec rooms, at Foothill, correct? Anyone else want to weigh in? Thanks.

I’m glad to hear that it’s rarely a problem to find a practice room at Morrison, although obviously it would be more convenient if it were closer to where you’re staying.

How do we use the practice rooms at Chavez? Do we have to go through the same process of trading ids for keys? I didn’t see any front desk or clerk when I went there, so I don’t know how we;re supposed to gain access to the rooms.

You trade your ID for the key indeed. The office is all the way down in the hallway in Chavez basement. You’ll pass the door that says ‘UC Jazz’.
