Any advice on which one produces better, employable architects?

I love both schools and each would end up costing me the same amount. Just going off of my gut feeling, I prefer Pratt because it has all the opportunities New York has to offer and I really like how teachers are critical with students so they learn how to stand up for their ideas. But UC Berkeley seems to be much more practical with its variety and variety of courses.

At this point, I'm seriously considering just flipping a coin to pick so any advice is appreciated.

I don’t know much about UC Berkeley, but I’ve visited Pratt and they definitely do have a great architecture program. Pratt really emphasized the fact that they have awesome connections since they’re so close to NYC and stated that 98% of their graduates get jobs within the year they graduate. All the students at Pratt really seemed to love it there.

There are many differences between these schools besides location, such as one is a full scale university and one is more of an arts school. But the BIGGEST difference is that Pratt is a BArch degree programs and Berkeley is a BA program and it seems to me that the fundamental and first question to ask yourself (even before you applied), is if you wish to do a BA or a BArch program. A BArch is also a very different kind of commitment. So, answer that first. If you really want a BArch, go with Pratt (and you like it after all). I say this even though I have a kid going to Berkeley for an MS in the Dept. of Architecture this fall. :D
