Pratt Regular Decision 2019

applied B.Arch, accepted.

portfolio had a FAT focus on environmentalism

who else is still waiting for their decision and is slowly losing it lol?? just me??

anyone know if anyone’s heard back from the writing program at pratt? i’m dying over here lol

Our son was waitlisted at the Brooklyn campus. Somehow, I was surprised at this one. I’d thought - for some reason - that Parsons would be more the reach, but Parsons gave him $20K in scholarships and Pratt was the waitlist.

Pratt did offer the Utica option, and I see how that’d be appealing and beneficial to some. Our kiddo graduated in a class of 17, though. Going to a college where there are only 100 or so students wasn’t what he wanted, which I understand.

Now we’ll wait on RISD, due to come out on Friday.

We’ve spent the day, off and on, talking about various pros and cons of each campus and their staggering costs. He’s accepted into the College of Fine Arts at the University of Texas. Four years there, with his assorted scholarships, would come to roughly $74K. A single year at RISD and Parsons, with no aid, is only a couple thousand less. That fun fact seemed to really take hold for him today.

I ended up getting waitlisted too… I applied to major in Drawing and minor in Sculpting, so I’m sure I’m in a big pool of applicants… it’s time to start the two months of anticipation and anxiety all over again. Honestly, I’ve had really bad luck with applying to art schools, ive only been accepted to 1/3 so far, so I’m tempted to go into medicine instead. We’ll see though, I hope that somehow, for some reason, they send a decision earlier than May. I wish everyone luck though! We can get through this!! Haha

Anybody has received scholarship info or knows when scholarship info will be mailed?

Daughter received email on scholarship this morning.

Recieved scholarship email this morning too! I got 26K scholarship but even with the scholarship, Pratt MWP is still cheaper. Hopefully there will be needed based grants.

Hi, I wonder if the transfer decision is with the regular decision date or differe? Thanks

has anyone gotten their acceptance for the photography program yet?

Has anyone received admission to Illustration major RD yet for Pratt Main Campus? Asking for a friend. TIA

I have received acceptance to Illustration at Pratt Main.

@Chuckymilokilo Congrats! Did u received it in December or recently?

@SatKam Thank you! Also recently!

Does anyone have any insight into how good your chances are if you were waitlisted for architecture and opted to have your application activated for consideration for construction management? My weighted GPA is around a 4.5 and I’m well in the top 5% of my class of 700. I was waitlisted for architecture because I lacked a portfolio and experience in advanced art as I dropped art in my sophomore year for more AP classes (which I totally understand is my fault; I was a very confused child who gave into academic peer pressure). I presume that construction management really doesn’t rely on a portfolio at all based on the job description? Correct me if I’m wrong. Any feedback would be appreciated!!

I can’t say what’s your chance, but I assume if you decide to go for construction management then the portfolio requirement wouldn’t be as tough as for art or design majors. However, Pratt being an art school I expect they would still prefer some art stuff.

Has anyone else still not received thier decsion??? I havnt seen anyone say they got in or got rejected since like tuesday!!
