Pratt student seeking to transfer

I'm a freshman at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn right now, as a major in Graphic Design (possibly looking into illustration) and I'm seriously considering transferring.

Right now i'm favouring Syracuse and MassArt. I know about MICA and RISD and all those other big name schools, but frankly, if i'm not getting good financial aid, it's not worth it.
I'd like to go to a school close to home, in western mass, prefererably something not more than four or five hours away.

I was wondering what people's thoughts were on MassArt and SU compared to Pratt. I know SU doesn't give as good merit aid to transfers, but does anyone know if they try to make up for it in need-based aid? MassArt of course, is nice because i'm instate and tuition would be cheap. But i think Pratt is a better school than MassArt, only that i'd feel more comfortable in a city like Boston. I'm not really liking Pratt right now because i find that i don't really like the city as much as i thought i would and i don't like brooklyn. Also the campus is so tiny, and i'd prefer more of a university feel with different types of students. And although MassArt is all art students, i figured because it's in such a college town, i'd still meet a lot of students from different areas of study.

Anyways, just looking for some feedback, it would be great if someone could give me their thoughts. Thanks
