Prayers for SoCal

Some of you have probably already heard, but SoCal is on fire right now. There are 11 fires burning out of control, 9 in SD county alone. The worst ones are 0% contained. 300,000 people have been evacuated in SD, and over 600 homes have burned down so far (remember, they aren't even contained yet). I know you guys can help, so if you could keep my family, friends, and SoCal residents in your prayers, I would be so grateful. Thank you, and God Bless!

sorry, the last thread got screwed up.

Sending thoughts of safety southward! We used to live in San Diego, and have friends and family all over the county. We got through to all of them last night, and two households were packed and ready to leave at a moment's notice, the others were safe so far.

Thank you moomin. The fire that caused us to evacuate this morning (Poomacha) has now grown to 20,000 acres, from 3,000 40 minutes ago. It is going to meet up with the Witch Creek fire, which is currently over 200,000 acres. However, the planned path is away from us, which is good. But please continue to pray, there are over 725,000 evacuees, and we need your help!

Gosh, vc08! Where were you, and where have you evacuated to? I hope you and yours continue to be safe.

We live in Valley Center, a small town bordering Escondido. Pauma Valley is right below us, and the Poomacha Fire is now sweeping into that area. We were evacuated to a nearby high school, where we're spending the night. We are safe, I'm just a little worried about the house. We have a beautiful view, but it's somewhat isolated! Palomar Mtn., which is north of our house, is also on fire, though I don't believe we are threatened from that.

You are lucky to have an Internet connection! Are they letting you use the school's library for that? I hope you spend a comfortable night.

My dad is a teacher here, so we're one of the lucky ones who gets to use his room. Thanks for all of your thoughts.

If it weren't for the dire circumstances, it could be fun! Are you there with other kids you go to school with? I hope you hear good news about your house today. Any idea when you'll be allowed to go home?

Thank you so very much for those of you whose thoughts and prayers were with SD residents during this difficult time. I was able to return home last night, and thank God everything was fine. It was certainly humbling to see the way people pulled together during this tragedy, and hearing the concerns from people all over the nation is something I will never forget. I hope this note finds you and yours safe and happy!

I'm so glad that your home and family are safe. Now, back to work on those essays! :)

haha, yup, just submitted my app actually!
