Devon Walker Injury: Tulane Safety Receives CPR On Field, Leaves In Ambulance - SBNation.com

On the last play of the first half against Oklahoma, Tulane safety Devon Walker was serioulsy injured. CPR successfully restored his breathing, but preliminary reports say he has a broken neck and collapsed lung. Best wishes for a complete recovery.

I just saw replays of the injury. Gave me chills to see what happened to that young man. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, teammates, coaches and all at Tulane. Stay strong.

Definitely saying a prayer here. Apparently a true student-athlete, majoring in cell and molecular biology. Whoever sees updates first, please post them here.

I think we should also keep Julius Warmsley in our thoughts and hope he isn’t feeling like this is his fault. Clearly it was an accident that happened in a split-second, but human nature being what it is he might be feeling some sense of responsibility that he shouldn’t. If anyone reading this board knows Julius, reach out to him as well.

Good point. He must be feeling awful. Thats why they call them “accidents”, not “purposes”.

My s is friends with a kicker on the team. If I hear anything I’ll update folks.
