There were a number of press accounts yesterday regarding Devon coming back to Louisiana in time for the holidays. Here are a few of them. The first one has a picture of him with some of the Saints personnel who visited him recently in Tulsa. I know we all continue to pray for his recovery and return to school life to finish his degree and a promising career in medicine.

A great article. Tough stuff to read, but honest and ultimately hopeful. I have to say, I am not at all sure I could have stayed as positive as this amazing young man.

Another article, with video of him speaking. Hard to hear him over the noise in the ballroom or whatever it is. Definite progress though. I saw a couple other articles about the Saints doing a fund raiser in conjunction with a women football fans group.

My D says she sees him around campus from time to time, and it seems he addresses the team before or during each game. Must be helping, can’t argue with the success the team has had this year! I know the most recent game where we beat Tulsa had to be tough for both sides. Tulsa is the team Tulane was playing when the injury occurred. I read an interview with the Tulsa coach, and you could tell he was genuinely moved by what happened, always thinking things like “what if I hadn’t called that timeout and just let the clock run until halftime?”. It has to be a difficult thing to wrestle with.

Thanks for sharing that, FC. I became even more interested when I read that the award presenter (Faron Kelly) is someone I graduated High School with.
