D's school has regular and honors sections of geometry and algebra II, and AP calculus and stats. The pre-calc and trig courses have no special designation, probably because there are only one or two sections of each. I'm tempted to count the classes as honors in calculating GPA. I justify the notion with the thought that at most high schools only honors students go beyond algebra II. I suppose what I think GPA is doesn't matter because each admissions office will calculate it using their own methodology. And did I see something about sophomore honors classes don't count anyway? (D is sohomore.)
Do any high schools have both regular and honors pre-calc?

My high school has both regular and honors precalc.

Yep, mine too. It has G/T, Honors, and Regular Precalc.

Ours has regular Pre-Calc, Pre-Calc AB, and Pre-Calc BC. I think when they do the weighting that regular is regular, AB is considered an honors-level course, and I don't know what they do with the BC.

Mine has GT/Honors/Regular precalc.

This statement simply is not true. At most schools seniors at the average math level complete pre-calculus their senior year.

I agree with Central Perky. My son's school also has honors pre-calc and regular pre-calc. You should ask your school how they treat pre-calc - does the school weight it when calculating GPA?
